I love horror movies and if I’m going to watch them anyway, why not write an entertaining/funny review from the point of view of an average movie-goer and not a professional critic?

Today we’re looking at director Damien Power’s 2022 Hulu film, No Exit

While stuck at a rest stop, a woman struggling with addiction discovers a kidnapped child in a van and must figure out who among her is the kidnapper.

Is it Scary?

Horror-wise not at all but the movie does have some pretty suspenseful moments that can count as heart-pounding. Don’t expect to get any nightmares when it’s all said and done.

Review:

The acting by all the actors and the dialogue feels believable except for a few times it feels forced just to give us some backstory. There are also a few questionable character choices that might leave you scratching your head but none of these ruin the movie.

As a fair warning and a slight spoiler, despite the film being advertised as a mystery with the mystery being who kidnapped the girl, you actually won’t spend too much time trying to figure that out. About 30 minutes in you find out who the kidnapper is and the mystery is over with still an hour left in the movie.

If you’re on the fence about the movie, give it a shot, as it’s only 90 minutes and the action scenes are well done you might end up liking it. Your reaction will probably be along the lines of “eh that wasn’t bad.”
